Lighthouse Villa Lanterna was originally constructed during the Austro-Hungarian reign in 1881 on the southeastern part of the Vir island. Today, it is an official first-class cultural monument. Your very own Croatian island escape will feature a commodity of a five-star villa overlooking the Adriatic. Built entirely out of native stone and brick, the interior and exterior were completely renovated in 2012 using an eclectic mixture of traditional Mediterranean and contemporary design.
Your private lighthouse retreat on the charming island of Vir sleeps up to 8 people and all the main rooms and bedrooms are fully air-conditioned. The villa is divided into two large, separate 90 m² floors. On the first floor, there are four bedrooms, each equipped with SAT LCD TV, queen-size bed and en suite bathroom. Additionally, the two larger rooms have access to the large round balcony that winds around the lighthouse tower to provide a spectacular panoramic sea view.
The common areas of the house are situated on the ground floor. The fully equipped kitchen is complete with filter-coffee and espresso-coffee machines, microwave, large refrigerator and freezer, and multifunctional stove/oven with electric and gas cookers. Next to the kitchen is a stylishly furnished dining room equipped with a mini bar and small wine tender, including a guest bathroom which has a washing machine.
The spacious living room has SAT LCD TV and Wi-Fi internet access, comfortable leather seating, and handsome Mediterranean solid wood furniture. Just outside there is a private spa area, including a sauna, whirlpool, and a multifunctional fitness machine. There is also a private outdoor sun deck set in the separate garden area complete with an outdoor covered grill.
Villa Lanterna is located some 8 kilometers from the town of Vir, which is roughly a 30-minute drive from Zadar and its international airport. The villa is connected to the mainland with its own bridge, making discovering the surrounding area and town by foot, bike, or car easy. Discover nearby natural and historical landmarks, such as the town of Nin. Zadar is a popular Croatian summer destination featuring a historical Roman and medieval ensemble, and three of Croatia's most stunning national parks: Paklenica, Krka, and Plitvice Lakes.
